Elucidating the importance of Ramnaam, Sadguru Shree Aniruddha says that Ramnaam is the Sadguru in itself. It is said that there is no such sin, which cannot be destroyed by Ramnaam, there is no such sinner who cannot be delivered from sin by the Ramnaam, and there will never be one. Hence, many Indian saints such as Tulsidas, Ramdas and many others reiterate the significance of Ramnaam before us.

It is not necessary to perform long-drawn penance or austerity to please Shree Ram. Shree Ram bestows his grace on every Bhakta, who does his bhakti even to the slightest extent or puts in even the modest of efforts in his pursuance.

Several saints have described the importance of Ramnaam through their various sacred works, Abhangas (devotional songs) and compositions –

प्रबिसि नगर कीजे सब काजा। हृदयँ राखि कौसलपुर राजा। गरल सुधा रिपु करहिं मिताई गोपद सिंधु अनल सितलाई॥

(सुंदरकांड २९)

[Prabisi Nagar Kijey Sab Kaaja, Hriday Rakhi Kosalpur Raja
Garal Sada Ripu Karai Mitai, Gopad Sindhu Anull Sitlai]

(Meaning- When one keeps Kausalpur’s King Lord Rama in his heart and enters the city to do the assigned work, he certainly achieves success.)

The Mahamantra of the Bhagwat Dharma, ‘Jai Jai Ram Krishna Hari’ was granted upon great Saint Tukaram by his Sadguru. The burning in the throat that Lord Paramshiva felt after consuming the Halahal poison obtained during the Amritmanthan (churning of the ocean) was soothed only after chanting of the Ramnaam. Also, Shree Hanuman says in Sunderkand

 सो सब तव प्रताप रघुराई। नाथ न कछु मोरि प्रभुताई॥
                                                                     (सुंदरकांड १८९)

[Sau Sab Tav Pratap Raghurai, Nath Na Kachhu Mori Prabhutai]

(Meaning- O Raghuraya! It is not my greatness, but it is you and your glory alone that has made all of this possible!)

The Ramnaam (the name Shree Ram) is the most sacred name; so is the Gurunaam.” I am therefore starting a bank, a bank of the Ramnaam, the name of God.”

– Sadguru Shree Aniruddha

These words of Sadguru Shree Aniruddha marked the initiation of the project, which meant to provide joy and fill happiness in the lives of all Shraddhavans. This unique project, launched on 18th August 2005 is known as the ‘Aniruddha’s Universal Bank of Ramnaam’.

A common man still gets cold feet when it comes to a bank, banking transactions and its rules. However, the ‘Bank of Ramnaam’ drives away all sorts of fears, problems and anxieties. Every Shraddhavan feels the close bond with this Bank, which is based on simple rules.

In the very first month of its inception, 43,138 accounts were opened, and 62,158 Ramnaam books were deposited with the Bank.
